Victor Wanyama could yet leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan ahead of today’s transfer deadline at 5 pm, according to Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas.

Wanyama joined Spurs from Southampton back in 2015 for a fee believed to be £11m.
A potential move for Wanyama would see the Kenyan join Kieran Trippier in leaving the club. The right-back was sold to Spanish side Atletico Madrid for £20m this summer.
Spurs have made two signings so far this window with Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke joining from Olympique Lyonnais and Leeds United respectively.
Tottenham wanting to let Wanyama leave comes after Ndombele moved to North London. The France international is a box-to-box midfielder and has been rated as one of the best young ball progressors in Europe.
Ndombele enjoyed a fine season for Lyon last campaign, and his defensive and passing statistics make for good reading for Spurs fans, especially when compared to Wanyama.
The 22-year-old averaged more passes per game and better passing accuracy in all competitions than Wanyama (via WhoScored). Defensively, Ndombele also outshone the out-and-out defensive midfielder, making more tackles, more interceptions and committing fewer fouls per game.
It’s clear to see why Tottenham want to get rid of Wanyama because in Ndombele they have a far better all-round player who will link with the attack and provide better cover in front of the defence.
The France international also showed he has quality in the final third, scoring three goals and assisting a further seven in 38 starts in all competitions.
Ndombele is by far the superior midfield option, so the news surrounding Wanyama’s potential loan departure comes as no surprise and would benefit both the club and the player.
