Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Jose Mourinho as their new manager less than 12 hours after sacking Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentinian was at the helm for over five years, providing consistent European football and even reaching the Champions League final last season.
However, he failed to deliver a trophy, and after a poor start to the season that’s left Spurs in 14th, Daniel Levy decided it was time for a change.
Mourinho was almost immediately linked with the vacant role with the 56-year-old has been out of work since leaving Manchester United last December.
He was appointed as manager earlier today with Spurs becoming the third English side he’s managed after previously coaching bitter rivals Chelsea, guiding them to three Premier League titles.
The Daily Mail reported that Mourinho wasn’t Levy’s first choice, though. They said that Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers was the man he wanted to take over, before being told a move would be impossible.
Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to that news:
Rather have Jose thanks 👍

So your telling me that we would have picked Brendan Rogers ahead of José Mourinho?

Rodgers would be seen as mercenary. Doubts he wants that reputation after he left Celtic.
