The tie against RB Leipzig in the Champions League was always going to be difficult given their injury crisis but the German outfit completely outclassed Tottenham Hotspur, knocking them out of the competition with 4-0 on aggregate.
Needless to say, this is far from the result Jose Mourinho was hoping for and with five defeats and one draw in the last six games, something will have to change at Spurs sooner rather than later.
And according to Manchester Evening News’ Samuel Luckhurst, the team needs a whole revamp in defence, including a new goalkeeper and definitely a new right-back.
He delivered his damning verdict on Twitter after Spurs’ defeat.
Tottenham need a whole new defence and that includes the goalkeeper. Baffling Lloris’s name has ever been prefixed with ‘underrated’ or ‘world-class’. Aurier is the worst full-back Mourinho has had since Khalid Boulahrouz.

Luckhurst even goes as far as saying that Serge Aurier is the worst full-back Mourinho has had since Khalid Boulahrouz and practically denied Hugo Lloris his prefix of “underrated” and “world-class”.
It seems that the first order of business in the summer should be a total revamp of the defensive line if Spurs want to finally move forward. At the moment, it feels like they’re going the other way.
Spurs fans, do you agree with Luckhurst’s verdict? What would be your priority for the summer? Let us know down in the comments below!
