These Tottenham Hotspur fans picked non-Spurs players as a joke when asked who they would start against Norwich City in their FA Cup last-sixteen clash tonight.
They responded to a post from the official Tottenham Hotspur Twitter page (see below) which asked fans to pick their starting eleven for the game. Some fans posted player names that are not currently at the club or who have only played for the club in the past, as well as some who were linked, perhaps suggesting they were angry more was not done over the course of the January window.
Among the familiar faces were Gareth Bale and even Nabil Bentaleb. One fan even mentioned Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, two footballers widely regarded amongst the best players to have played this decade and both are still playing now. The tweet read: ‘Messi and Ronaldo for a start’.
