Tottenham may have to stay at Wembley for a lot longer than planned

Tottenham Hotspur could be facing even more concerning news this season as things continue to go against their plans this summer.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Spurs may have to play all of their home Premier League games at Wembley Stadium after they had to extend their stay at the national stadium.

It is believed that there are fears the new stadium may not be ready to be moved into until after Christmas, although it is understood an agreement with the Football Association is thought to be until December 15, when they host Burnley.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have already had to have a number of games rearranged due to the delays the new stadium is causing and it appears that the club may have to remain at Wembley for the foreseeable future.

However, the report adds that Daniel Levy hopes his club will be able to move into the new stadium before the December 15 deadline and has only agreed to a deal with the FA as a precautionary measure.

This is turning into a summer that Tottenham will want to forget rather quickly.

Firstly, Pochettino’s side did not make any new additions to strengthen their squad during the transfer window, although they did not lose any players either, so that will be considered a bonus.

However, the lack of having a permanent home could have a draining effect on the club, from the supporters to the players, which could ultimately cost them during the season.
