Tottenham Hotspur are planning to spend big in the winter transfer window as they look to add to their squad.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side has been reduced significantly following a number of injuries and Spurs look set to try and address the situation in January.
The north London outfit did not sign any players in the summer, which many had questioned at the time, however, Tottenham have still managed to get by.
But, with Mousa Dembele now set to spend some time on the sidelines after heading to Qatar for specialist treatment, it appears Spurs are ready to spend big.
However, the Premier League side are expected to face stiff competition for the player, with Liverpool also thought to be keen on him.
The Verdict:
Tottenham certainly need to add to their squad in the winter as their midfield ranks are starting to appear a little bare in places.
With the likes of Dembele and Victor Wanyama’s futures in doubt, it is no real surprise that Spurs are looking to act now.
Barella would be an excellent addition to the side, however, they will face fierce competition for the 21-year-old who has been dubbed as Italy’s next ‘Steven Gerrard’.
