Tottenham Hotspur have been linked to Mikkel Damsgaard for a while now, and fresh updates suggest they are still keen on him, but that he could be a hard player to acquire.
The latest on Damsgaard
According toTuttosport (via FC Inter News), Inter Milan have joined the race for the Serie A attacker, but Juventus and Tottenham are leading the way and are currently favourites to sign him.
This would be a good acquisition
The Sampdoria star is only 20-years-old but has already been compared to Danish footballing icon and Champions League winner Michael Laudrup (TUTTOmercatoWEB). Being from Denmark himself, this must be crazy for him to hear.
He has already managed 15 goals and 21 assists during his early career (Transfermarkt) and with six-goal contributions already coming this season, he is showing that he has the potential to grow into a star player.
Jose Mourinho’s side have 36 goals in the Premier League this season, but Manchester City have scored 43 and Manchester United have managed 49 (SofaScore). These are the top two sides in the division, and if the North London side want to be competing with them, then they may need to show more attacking prowess.
Therefore, adding a young star with a lot of potential seems like a great idea. He can learn a lot from world-class attackers like Harry Kane and Son Heung-min whilst also helping them in attack.
A move for the Dane makes sense for Spurs, it will be interesting to see if they can get a deal done.
In other news: Daniel Levy has been told to sign this £120,000-per-week star, find out more here.
