As per Calciomercato, there has been an encouraging transfer update out of Tottenham Hotspur involving Antonio Conte, Fabio Paratici and USA international Weston McKennie.

The Lowdown: McKennie on the move?

McKennie, who has been linked with a move away from current club Juventus over the last few months, has been heavily tipped with a move to the English capital in particular.

According to a recent report by Football Insider, West Ham have been in talks over a possible deal and it is believed that the player himself is 'very keen' to 'play in London and in the Premier League'.

Tottenham have also been credited with interest in making that dream a reality with The Sun claiming they are indeed one of the English top flight clubs keeping tabs on his situation.

In an update, it appears Spurs have been handed an almighty boost going by his revealed price tag.

The Latest: McKennie price revealed...

As per Calciomercato, sharing news on the 23-year-old, McKennie's future is still up in the air and deemed 'expendable' despite his 'rebirth' and becoming a 'first choice' under Massimiliano Allegri.

Namedropping Spurs, Paratici and Conte specifically, they say the Lilywhites could even bring him to north London for 'an offer of €20 million (£17.1m)'.

The Verdict: Too good to miss?

Still young and with plenty of experience at the top level already, signing McKennie for the slender price of £17.1m could come as too big of an opportunity to squander for Paratici and Conte.

Hugely versatile, McKennie could play in a number of different positions for Tottenham's new boss - including in the centre of defence and across the entire midfield.

This could make him useful in Conte's heavily tipped 3-5-2 formation at Spurs as he outshines a few Lilywhites players already this season both defensively and offensively.

According to WhoScored, the youngster has averaged a fairly threatening 1.4 shots on goal per 90 over his six Serie A starts - more than out-of-form Spurs duo Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso have managed in the Premier League.

Defensively, McKennie has also averaged more interceptions per 90 in central midfield (0.9) than starlet Oliver Skipp (0.6) who has arguably been one of Tottenham's players of the season and a 'key starter'.

Lauded as a 'raw talent' by ex-Schalke head coach Domenico Tedesco, we believe he could be a fruitful signing for Spurs going by his age and potential.
