Transfer Flashback: Kevin Mirallas

Back in the summer of 2012, Everton signed Kevin Mirallas from Greek side Olympiacos as manager David Moyes looked to strengthen his forward options.

Part of a golden generation of Belgium players, Mirallas’ arrival at Goodison Park was one that left supporters feeling ecstatic.

And looking at Mirallas’ style, it was not hard to see why fans were so delighted with chairman Bill Kenwright for managing to get a deal over the line for the Belgian.

Mirallas has pace and can be very dangerous in 1v1s, which is exactly what the Goodison Park faithful love to see in an Everton winger.

On top of that, the Belgium international is a very versatile attacker and a fairly good shooter of the ball. With that in mind, Mirallas’ goal-scoring record at Everton should probably be much better than what it is.

For all of his attacking quality, Mirallas does not boast particularly good numbers in the Premier League considering how much time he has spent in the division.

Nevertheless, the former Olympiacos man, who is currently on loan at Fiorentina, is still a player who brought a lot to Everton’s attack overall and should go down as a successful signing for the club.
