Back in the summer of 2016, West Brom signed Belgium international Nacer Chadli from Tottenham in a deal that looked like quite a coup for the Midlands club.
Despite not delivering what was expected of him following his move from FC Twente to White Hart Lane, Chadli still showed glimpses of his ability and was able to reach double figures in the 2014/15 Premier League season.
Ultimately, Chadli’s time in north London can only be deemed as a failure, but he displayed enough individual quality to get West Brom supporters excited about his arrival at the Hawthorns.

However, much like his time at Tottenham, Chadli simply failed to deliver. After a season where he only made four Premier League appearances, the 29-year-old now finds himself playing his football in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco.
Chadli had an impressive World Cup with the Belgium national team, as Roberto Martinez’s men finished in third place, explaining why the French giants were probably interested in bringing him to the Stade Louis II.
Chadli did little in the run up to the tournament in Russia, although injuries played their part.
And perhaps under a more adventurous manager than Tony Pulis, the former Tottenham man would have had better conditions to thrive in.
Nevertheless, Chadli has still been a massive disappointment at the Hawthorns given the expectation that came with his arrival and West Brom were right to part ways with him during the summer.
