Everton have had a fairly inconsistent season so far and despite having Marco Silva at the helm, they still haven’t hit the heights the fans may have been hoping for.
With Farhad Moshiri at the club, Everton spent heavily over the summer and brought in the likes of Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes, Yerry Mina and crucially Richarlison.
Richarlison was an instant hit at Watford last year and despite his form dropping off in the second-half of the season, Everton saw enough potential in the Brazilian and put together a deal that could potentially rise to £50 million. The Brazilian has been in superb form this season and against Cameroon, he continued that as he scored the side’s one and only goal.
Last season Richarlison scored five goals in 38 games for the club and was mostly played as a winger. He started this season on the wing but in recent weeks, Silva has shifted him inside and so far it looks as though he may have found his best position.
He’s played five games as the striker and has scored three goals while also grabbing one assist. Despite only being 21, Richarlison has already become a key figure for Everton and his form will be central to how well Everton will do this season.
His pace and ability to get in behind the opposition’s defence is brilliant and as the season goes on we should see him improve as he gets more games under his belt as a striker.
