Belgian midfielder, Mousa Dembele, looks set to leave the club which would create a huge void in the centre of midfield. Reports have suggested Tottenham will move for Boca Juniors midfielder – Wilmar Barrios.
Valued at £7.2m by Transfermarkt, Barrios could prove to be a great piece of business. A defensive midfielder by trade, the Colombian is not a like-for-like replacement for Dembele but might develop into a key player for Pochettino. Alongside either Eric Dier or Victor Wanyama, he would excel.

Similar to N’Golo Kante’s role alongside Nemanja Matic in Chelsea’s 2017 title-winning campaign, Barrios is perfectly suited to a two-man midfield pairing. Comfortable on the ball, Boca must be desperate to keep their star man ahead of their Copa Libertadores campaign.
Barrios is thought to have a £14.5m release clause in his contract meaning he would be a relatively risk-free signing. Under Pochettino’s guidance, he could develop into a top Premier League star.
