West Ham are a club that pride themselves on their heroes and the fans in the Transfer Tavern are no different.
The local Hammers punters love talking about the likes of Bobby Moore and Geoff Hurst, as well as more contemporary stars in Paolo Di Canio and Dimitri Payet.
With their move to the London Stadium the club are hoping for a new era, with even more heroes to look back on and they’ll certainly be hoping for their fair share of great goals to go into the bargain.
The east London side have scored some iconic strikes over the years so there’s a lot to sort through, but our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern has undertaken such a task.
That’s why, despite the big number of goals to go through, this list of the THREE best has been created, what do you think?
Paolo Di Canio v Wimbledon
This simply has to go in.
The Italian was a real hero for the Hammers and some of the stuff he did, both good and bad, was outrageous.
This goal is one of the best the country’s top flight has seen let alone the London club and rightly deserves to be in this list.
Dimitri Payet v Crystal Palace
It’s a free-kick that you can watch over and over and still be surprised that it somehow dips in.
Payet has been a revelation for the club since his signing last year, and this strike is arguably his finest moment in claret and blue so far.
Trevor Brooking v Derby
The West Ham legend rolls the Rams player from a throw in like he’s not there before lashing home a ferocious strike in to the corner.
One of the Hammers’ best ever players and with a goal like this you can see why.
Jump to 1:20 for this one.
