Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are certainly happy that this season is over with as they can now to begin to forget about it.
Indeed, the club really did have a struggle of a campaign to go through in 2016/17 but at least managed to steer clear of relegation.
Certainly, that fight lower down the league was a very close one with just a handful of points separating many sides in the table.
And, in light of that and the win over Burnley yesterday, the Hammers ended up finishing 11th in the league – something that doesn’t look too bad at all.
Indeed, Jack Sullivan tweeted about just that though some fans were still quick to point out that it’s still not been a good year with the best of the reaction below:
