The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been patiently waiting for Mesut Ozil to return to form…
The German is clearly a very talented player, having been at the forefront of proceedings for Real Madrid, Arsenal and the German national team for several years – but this season it just hasn’t happened for him.
A mix of injury woes and a lack of form have contributed to what has, all told, been a pretty poor campaign for Ozil – often unable to exert the kind of influence that he has made look so easy over the last few years.
This poor run came to an end on Wednesday night, though, with Ozil putting in a wonderful performance for the Gunners. He scored the opening goal as Arsenal went on to secure a 3-0 win against West Ham, with the Hammers often unable to cope with his trickery, passing and goal threat.
Indeed, it isn’t just those in the Transfer Tavern that were delighted with his performance – with a number of Arsenal fans taking to Twitter to voice their support for Ozil’s return to form.
