Spurs fans are delighted at the news that their club are eyeing the future of England, Ryan Sessengon. The 17-year-old left-back has been unbelievable in his short time with Championship side Fulham and, already Tottenham are reportedly willing to put down £30 million for his signature. So where would this leave Ben Davies?
24-year-old Davies (rated at £16.2 million according to Transfermarkt) has been at Tottenham since 2014, joining from fellow Premier League club Swansea City. The defender is very capable at getting up and down the wings, assisting team-mates or putting in a vital tackle to stop a goal being conceded.
Indeed, two of the clubs that would be alerted straight away if Tottenham bring in Sessegnon are Newcastle and West Ham. Davies may struggle for game time at Spurs with another left-back in their ranks so may look at these two sides as an opportunity for a guaranteed place in the starting line-up.
With that in mind, here’s a closer look at how he’d fit in.
Newcastle

Despite just having Paul Dummett sign a new contract, Ben Davies is a better all-round player. He has been an important player for Tottenham this season, making 28 appearances and getting 2 goals and 5 assists in that time.
On the other hand, Dummett has been out for the majority of the season with a hamstring injury that he sustained against Spurs on the first day of the Premier League season. If Newcastle want to stop flirting with relegation and rise up the table, Davies would be a welcomed addition that would make the Magpies a lot stronger.
West Ham

With Arthur Masuaku unsure of his future at West Ham following his red card at Wigan, West Ham would welcome Ben Davies as a very good replacement to the disgraced left-back.
The Hammers lack in pace all around the pitch and, with the speed Davies can turn defence in to attack with, he might be the player that kickstarts a new look West Ham under David Moyes. With Patrice Evra surely nothing more than a stop-gap, Davies could be a wonderful addition at the London Stadium.
