It looks like West Ham are looking for a right-back in the transfer window after youngster Jeremy Ngakia left the club, and they have been linked to Max Aarons. However, a lot of the fan base are reacting to news that suggests the Irons might struggle to sign the player.
The 20 year-old full-back currently plays for Norwich City, who were relegated from the Premier League after losing 4-0 to West Ham last weekend, per BBC Sport.
The Englishman has been linked to fellow Premier League sides like Tottenham, and looks to be a possible player for the future. But according to Football.London, Hammers manager David Moyes will struggle to bring the defender to East London in the upcoming transfer window due to the fact he has a price-tag of £30 million.

In his debut season in England’s top flight, the full-back has managed 1.4 tackles and 1 interception on average per game, via WhoScored, however he has been part of a Norwich defence that has leaked 68 goals in the division, which is the most of any club, per SofaScore.
Despite his possible potential, Moyes cannot warrant spending £30 million on a player who has not had the best defensive season, and he could possibly look elsewhere for a cheaper signing.
Here is what fans said following the news, with many agreeing that they would not want the club to spend such a high fee on a young player who has been a part of a struggling defensive unit. One even described him as “another [Ryan] Fredericks” – the Hammers right-back has been slated at times for poor performances this season.

Why are we looking at Aarons? So raw, whilst I like him there is better value out there in the market also we don’t know what league we are in 😂
Cash
Wague
Montiel
BogleAll better value & much more rounded players with the last 3 all offering great value now & in the future

If it was 3 million we wouldn’t buy him.

He was bullied Saturday. Another Fredericks.

Surely he can’t be £30m now that they are relegated?
We need a LB before him anyway https://t.co/OxEvt2zkDG

Not worth it anyway.
He looks good going forward but lacks the defensive side to his game in my opinion. Right-Back is a priority, but not as much as Left-Back for me. https://t.co/19wCNgJ4KR
