Ahead of the first ever FA Cup tie at the London Stadium tonight, the West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern are discussing just what has gone wrong this season.
One of the major names to come up amongst the conversations of our east London locals is that of Dimitri Payet’s, who has failed to recapture the sort of form that made him so popular last term.
That’s not to say the Frenchman has suddenly become a bad player, though there’s little doubt the 29-year-old has dipped in form.
Which is why the Irons propping up the bar are barely surprised to read reports from the Sun.
They claim the Les Blues ace has been dragged in for clear-the-air talks with manager Slaven Bilic as top brass try to figure out whether or not he is still committed to the cause in claret and blue.
A return to former club Marseille has recently been touted and his efforts on the training ground are reportedly of concern to management.
Now, Bilic is understood to have told his star playmaker to buck his ideas up after a number of poor performances in December after previously cutting him some slack in an attempt to get the best out of him.
Will Payet remain at West Ham? Let us know below…
