According to The Express, West ham are looking into the possibility of signing Gregoire Defrel from Sassuolo with our resident Hammers in the Transfer Tavern hoping he’ll be the ideal striking recruit.
The men from east London have had a shocking time of it so far this season and that is largely thanks to their lack of options up front.
With Andy Carroll only just returning from injury, manager Slaven Bilic has played the likes of Simone Zaza up top in a bid to compensate but the Italian simply has not cut it with him still yet to find the net for the club.
Striking reinforcements are certainly needed, then, and it seems that Defrel could be the answer for the Irons.
The Frenchman has scored ten goals this season for the Neroverdi who continue to punch above their weight in Italy though things have been tougher this year.
The club has been in the Europa League, too, with a very small squad so their league form has suffered but Defrel has still been impressive and our landlord thinks the Hammers would be getting a good goal-scorer if they signed him.
