West Ham: Fans applaud Joe Cole’s passionate view on issues at the London Stadium

Loads of West Ham fans have applauded ex-Hammer Joe Cole after he spoke about the current issues at the football club.

The 38-year-old, who retired from playing football in 2018, spoke from the heart after his former side lost 1-0 to Championship side West Brom in the FA Cup on Saturday. Former manager Slaven Bilic enjoyed a happy return to East London as Conor Townsend’s ninth-minute strike was enough to knock David Moyes’ side out of the domestic cup competition.

Speaking with BT Sport, Cole sympathised with the supporters and highlighted that Moyes was “there to be shot down”. He accused the club’s owners of spending money without any structured plan and providing unrealistic promises. The club have not won a trophy since the FA Cup win in 1980 against Arsenal.

Supporters agreed with Cole and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he “hit the nail on the head”, while another wanted the ex-Hammer to return and “bang some heads together” to sort the issues out at the London Stadium.
