Several West Ham United fans have been calling for Pablo Fornals to return to the starting line-up following another disappointing display against Liverpool on Wednesday.
The Hammers were beaten 2-0 by Jurgen Klopp’s side and, in truth, the result was never really in doubt. Many players struggled to make an impact on the game, including Manuel Lanzini, who is supposed to be their playmaker.
Indeed when the Argentine was substituted after 69 minutes, quite a few fans cheered the fact that he was going off as they were that disappointed with his display (Evening Standard).
And it seems that quite a few are now fed up of the 26-year-old and want him to be replaced by Fornals for their next game, which is a crucial relegation six-pointer against Brighton who are just two points ahead of West Ham in the table (BBC Sport).
The Spaniard signed from Villarreal in the summer, but he has only started 13 times in the Premier League (Transfermarkt) so hasn’t had too many chances to make an impact yet. Many fans on Twitter think that it’s about time he got his opportunity to be in the 11, here is what some had to say…
What on earth does Fornals have to do to get a start in Moyes lineup?

I love Lanzini but Fornals must start on Saturday https://t.co/Bnt9mwSfVY

Moyes being a bit stubborn. Got to start Fornals. Lanzini doesn’t even make the bench.

START PABLO FORNALS!#JusticeForFornals pic.twitter.com/fCXy1CRrBT

Worried that Moyes has been leaving out Fornals, arguably our most in form (and confident) player, when he arrived, to gamble on Lanzini becoming good again despite a horrendous injury since he was last here as well as a lack of form.
Time to give up on the experiment.

✅ Great start to the game from Ngakia
We must:
• Start Fornals over Lanzini against Brighton
• Support Haller, left isolated again
• Soucek could offer us somethingWasn’t expecting to win, Brighton just becomes that more important #WHUFC pic.twitter.com/xavzuFTwGh

We MUST drop Lanzini against Brighton and start Fornals and agree with everything else you said. Jeremy Ngakia had a solid debut too!
