West Ham United director of football Mario Husillos has followed Manuel Pellegrini out of the club (The Sun).

The 60-year-old was hired by the Hammers at the request of Pellegrini after they had worked together at Malaga (football.london).
But with the club having sacked the Chilean manager they have also decided to part company with Husillos as they look for a fresh start under David Moyes.
Husillos was supposed to help Pellegrini bring top quality players to West Ham that would help them challenge at the top end of the Premier League.
However, most of his transfer dealings have been unsuccessful. Indeed he had a hand in bringing in the likes of Sebastien Haller and Carlos Sanchez who have really struggled to make much of an impact at the club given their prices.
Added to that, he was also responsible for bringing in goalkeeping flop Roberto Jimenez, who has performed woefully for the Hammers this term and has conceded 16 goals in just seven Premier League starts (Transfermarkt).
However, whilst his work wasn’t the best it seems that many West Ham fans aren’t too happy that he has been let go as they fear it means that owners David Gold and particularly David Sullivan are now in charge of recruitment.
