West Ham United could be set to sell Albian Ajeti in the January transfer window, that is according to a report from Claret & Hugh.
The 22-year-old only arrived at the London Stadium in the summer, joining from Swiss side Basel for £8 million (BBC Sport).
According to the report, the Switzerland international was set to move to Brentford before Mario Husillos and Manuel Pellegrini hijacked the deal and took him to West Ham.
However, he has struggled for game time whilst in east London and has played just 100 minutes of Premier League football so far this term (Transfermarkt).
As a result, it is thought that the club will now look to move him on next month and search for an alternative striker to compete with Sebastien Haller and Michail Antonio.
Fans appear to be unhappy at Ajeti’s potential exit and have questioned why they would sell him when he has barely been given a chance by the club.
Here is what some had to say on Twitter…
Why sell?
He’s not on big wages & If Brentford wanted him, send him on loan there & watch him develop & add value on their way to a Promotion Push!
They’ve got a fantastic coaching staff & could even use a loan as part of a deal for Benrahma…— Steven McCarthy (@StevenMcCarthy9) December 11, 2019
He’s had so little gametime I genuinely don’t even know if he’s any good ! 🙄

Take a loss & he hasn’t even got a Chance hardly. He wasn’t my choice for #2 striker but gotta feel for him & watch him go to eslehwere & score for fun…

Guaranteed he goes to a club like Brentford and smashes 20 odd goals in before the end of the season

not even given a chance he will move on & prove himself

Give a player barely anytime playing and then ship him out. Typical West Ham how does this help him to prove how good he is
