The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been slating their on-loan shot-stopper, Joe Hart. The former Birmingham City man turns 31 today, although the Hammers haven’t taken that into account as they make jokes at the expense of the out-of-favour England ‘keeper. Hart added to his list of blunders on Monday night when he spilt a tame Xherdan Shaqiri effort into the path of Peter Crouch for the big man to put Stoke into the lead.

Two years ago, Joe Hart was one of the Premier League’s best goalkeepers. At the age of just 29, he was being touted to break Peter Shilton’s record of 125 England caps given the longevity of goalkeepers. It now seems like Hart might be stuck on 75 caps for a while though. The last two seasons have been the worst of Hart’s career, he spent last season facing a new challenge on-loan at Torino where he made 36 Serie A appearances, shipping 62 goals and keeping only five clean-sheets.
His current season at West Ham hasn’t been going much better though, the 31-year-old has made just 18 Premier League appearances this season, after losing his place to the Adrian between December and March, and has only managed to keep five clean-sheets so far. The club have five tough games left against Arsenal, Manchester City, Leicester, Manchester United and Everton, leading many fans to believe Hart’s total of five clean-sheets is all he’ll get.
