For a lot of West Ham fans, this season was always going to be a tough one because of the injury that their marquee man, Manuel Lanzini suffered over the summer. As the 25-year-old was gearing up to play for his country in the World Cup over the summer, he suffered a shocking ligament injury that ended his season before it had begun, but now it looks like he’s getting back on track.

Whilst it may not look like much, Lanzini posted a video of himself in training and for the Hammers to see him back out on the pitch with a ball at his feet will be a massive relief. The current crop of players at West Ham are capable of playing some lovely football and when they have a full squad the likes of Lanzini, Marko Arnautovic, Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko will be hard to deal with and could help West Ham kick on.
When Manuel Pellegrini took over at The London Stadium a lot of fans were excited to see how he would get on with Lanzini, although now they’ll have to wait to see how that goes. The key message that the fans have for Lanzini at the moment is to hurry back but don’t rush it. The last thing they want is to see the Argentine take more years off of his career but not allowing himself to recover and they’ll want him ready to hit top gear when he does finally make his return from the sidelines.

The Hammers are over the moon to see Lanzini progressing so quickly and will be hoping he can only get better from here as the Argentine looks to up his rehab.
