West Ham fans will be pleased with the business their club have done in the transfer market this summer.
The Hammers have splashed the cash on the likes of Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko, to the delight of supporters, while the addition of Jack Wilshere on a free transfer is also something that has brought much excitement to the London Stadium.
However, one name that would likely leave the West Ham faithful underwhelmed is Carlos Sanchez.
According to the Evening Standard, West Ham are interested in signing the £1.35m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Colombian from Serie A side Fiorentina as manager Manuel Pellegrini looks to replace Cheikhou Kouyate.
With Kouyate’s departure to Crystal Palace, the Hammers could certainly do with a new defensive midfielder.
Sanchez, though, is a bizarre option to consider. The Colombia international looked out of his depth during his time in the Premier League with Aston Villa and, at 32, is probably a player on the decline.
Take a look at what West Ham supporters are saying on Sanchez below…
Wrong Sanchez haha

I wasn't too happy that Sanchez was coming in, now not at all happy hearing that Obiang may well be leaving as well, making Sanchez second choice DM…

Toilet.
As much as he’s “back up”, you need quality back up to progress.— AllSportsView (@AllSportsView) August 7, 2018
