West Ham fans on Twitter eager to see a London Stadium recall for Jordan Hugill

On the weekend, West Ham had a number of their on-loan stars turn out for their temporary clubs. One of those was Jordan Hugill, who was the star performer in The Hammers’ loan watch. Hugill bagged a brace as Middlesbrough beat Wigan 2-0 in the Championship and now a lot of West Ham fans have been calling for the 26-year-old to be recalled.

Hugill is currently three months into his season-long loan spell at The Riverside Stadium and he’ll be keen to get show a consistent goalscoring touch as he aims to make a name for himself as a Premier League goal-getter when he does the make the move back to Stratford ahead of next season. So far, the 26-year-old’s loan spell has been pretty dry, with just three goals in 13 appearances for Boro’s senior side, although his double against Wigan shows promise.

If the ex-Preston man can kick on from here and continue to grab goals for Tony Pulis in English football’s second tier then he could well play himself into contention under Manuel Pellegrini next season, even if he does have to compete with the likes of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic next season. Alternatively, if his goals can help take Boro up then the club might just look to make him a permanent addition to the squad.
