West Ham fans on Twitter fume over club’s embarrassing tweet after Spurs loss

To West Ham fans, any game against Tottenham is like a cup final. The fans are always up for a game against The Lilywhites and defeat is never an option, except for the fact that they lose more than they win. After the 1-0 home defeat to their rivals, the Hammers would have wanted to forget about it, until their club tweeted a video highlighting Robert Snodgrass’ work rate.

West Ham fans were appalled by their club’s tweet. Not only did it make them look pathetic, but after a loss to Tottenham the last thing that they want to see is their club putting out tweets and videos that contain the caption ‘We didn’t get the result’. Understandably, a number of Tottenham fans jumped on the West Ham tweet and will have loved seeing the Stratford club’s woes.

In truth, Robert Snodgrass’ work rate to chase down the Spurs defenders and press high was admirable and the fact that it eventually led to his side winning a free-kick on the half-way line despite Tottenham looking comfortable in possession is a positive. However, that work rate is the minimum requirement for the fans and they want to see more than just pressing and chasing the opposition’s shadows for 90 minutes.
