West Ham fans have enjoyed their season so much so far. The Hammers have been galvanised by the new manager Manuel Pellegrini and the way he’s got his side playing wonderful football and whilst it’s not a pretty role, Declan Rice allows it to happen with his role in holding midfield and he’s now been rewarded with the LFA YPOTY award.

Declan Rice has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season on a consistent basis from his position deep in midfield and his hard graft allows the likes of Felipe Anderson and Marko Arnautovic to do what they do best. The young midfielder has shone for the Irons at The London Stadium and after recently declaring his allegiance to England internationally his future looks bright.
There are a lot of young footballers coming through who will be giving Gareth Southgate selection headaches for the next squad, although one of the first players in the squad will surely be Rice given his form and the efforts that Southgate and others went to to convince the West Ham man to choose England over the Republic of Ireland for who to play for at international level.
