During the summer, West Ham bolstered their squad significantly with the London Stadium hierarchy looking to back their new man in the dugout Manuel Pellegrini.
As a result, the likes of Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko were brought in for big money as the club looked to strengthen its attack.
And after a slow start to life in east London, the pair have since made big contributions to the three Premier League games the Hammers have managed to win so far this season.
As well as Anderson and Yarmolenko, Issa Diop was also signed before the start of the campaign to improve Pellegrini’s options at the back, something which the Frenchman has done.
£19.8m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Diop has been West Ham’s best defender this term, putting in a string of solid and composed performances that have resulted in him being called up to the latest France U21 squad, though it could be argued he may deserve more.
Have a look at what West Ham supporters are saying on Diop’s U21 call-up below…
Good luck… top player!
