Saturday was one to forget for West Ham after they were on the receiving end of a heavy 4-0 home defeat to Manchester City.
And while most West Ham supporters would have gone into the game not expecting much, they would have left the London Stadium utterly disappointed with the team’s performance as much as the actual result.
Defender Pablo Zabaleta, though, is choosing to remain optimistic and is certain his side have the quality to achieve much better results in the coming weeks.
“The best thing as a team is to go in on Monday, see each other, turn the page and think about the next game,” the former Manchester City man told West Ham’s official club website after the game.
“Move on, simple as that, just take the positives from this game and keep believing as a team that we’re going to improve for sure because we have enough quality to play better and win games.”
Assessing West Ham’s squad, Zabaleta certainly has a point about the team being able to play better, something supporters should see in their upcoming Premier League games. But considering that, it makes Saturday’s display even more of an unacceptable one.
