West Ham: Fans are giving up on Marko Arnautovic

It might be starting to feel like déjà vu for West Ham fans.

Marko Arnautovic caused quite the stir in the previous January transfer window when the Austrian attacker admitted he wanted to leave the club via the Telegraph, only to go back on his claim and sign a contract extension with the Hammers after the dust had settled following a rejected bid from a Chinese club as reported from the Telegraph.

Six months on from that fiasco, and Arnautovic has yet again asked to leave the club, with Sky Sports News reporting this time that the striker had handed in a transfer request, with BBC Sport following it up with a report that West Ham had rejected a £19.7 million bid from an unnamed Chinese club for the 30-year-old.

Despite the fact the former Stoke City ace was the club’s top scorer last season with 11 goals, talkSPORT pundit Adrian Durham hinted he believed the fanbase was largely ‘done’ with Arnautovic back in March and the idea of him pushing to leave again hasn’t gone down too well online.

Of course, many West Ham fans were not happy with the turn of events and took to Twitter to vent their frustration in the attacker. Here is what a few supporters had to say following the news…
