Loads of West Ham United fans have reacted negatively to a post by the club’s official Twitter account which featured midfielder Manuel Lanzini.
The tweet showed an image of the Argentine which he had previously posted along with a caption which suggested he missed football and the Hammers. In their response, the club said that they missed the player too.
However, it seems that a lot of their fans didn’t share the same opinion as their club and responded to the post by slamming the player.
The 27-year-old has been a key player for the club in years gone by, indeed he scored 19 league goals and provided 11 assists in his first three seasons with the East London outfit. However, more recently he has struggled and in the last two campaigns he has just one goal and five assists in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).
It is perhaps because of that poor recent form that many Hammers fans have been critical of £18 million-valued playmaker in response to the post on Twitter. Many suggested that he has gone missing for the last few seasons, whilst another suggested that he needs to work harder and ‘play for the badge‘ when football returns after the current global pandemic.
Here is what some had to say…
We’ve missed him since about 2018

Maybe you’ll appreciate it more after all this and actually start running around a bit more on the pitch and working hard! Play for the badge!
