West Ham fans take to Twitter to laud Arnautovic for last night’s efforts

This season has been a strange one for Marko Arnautovic. The Austrian forward is something of a maverick and that much is obvious. Having bagged seven goals in the Premier League, the striker almost left in January for China, and since then his performances have dipped. That was until last night when he was finally back to his best.

The former Stoke City forward was unable to score or assist to help the Hammers claim a result, but he stood up to be counted and was one of the only players who looked good in what was a sorry outing overall from the Stratford club in their London derby against the Blues. No one truly expected the Irons to get anything from the tie, but it was still frustrating for the fans nonetheless.

Regardless of the disappointing result and the overall poor display, some fans have been trying to take the positives from the game, and one of those was the display from Arnautovic. If he can carry on performing like last night in the final six Premier League games the Hammers have this season then there’s no reason why he can’t add to his seven goals and try and help his club secure a top ten finish.
