Yesterday saw Pedro Obiang turn 27-years-old, and whilst he’ll never be the most loved man at the London Stadium, he certainly is worth his salt. As the club celebrated the midfielder’s special day, the only video they could post that would fit the occasion was his world-class strike against Tottenham at Wembley from last season.

It was a special strike in a game against a huge rival, and the Hammers absolutely loved rewatching it. Any goal against Tottenham is a special one, and this was no different. The Irons rocked up to Wembley in early January 2018 and were the underdogs for the clash, however, they soon proved everyone wrong when Obiang gave the away side the lead with a goal worthy of winning any game.
The central midfielder smashed an effort from around 30 yards into the top corner, giving Hugo Lloris no chance. Whilst Tottenham would go on to reply with a stunning strike of their own from Heung-Min Son, nothing was taking the plaudits off of Obiang that day, and it will be a goal that the man himself will likely never top, especially seeing as it was against the old enemy.

The Hammers all love and remember that Obiang strike with fondness and will be desperate to see him pull another one out of the back at some point later this season when they go Tottenham’s new home.
