For about 18 months the London Stadium was a place where Marko Arnautovuc thrived. However, ever since the debacle with the Austrian and a supposed move to China back in January, he just hasn’t been the same. Yesterday was no different and after 68 minutes of strolling about and looking disinterested, the frontman was subbed.

The substitution was between two shambolic West Ham frontmen. Whilst Arnie may have goals in his boots and the ability to change games, his attitude problems have proven to be a roadblock in his career progression. Then there’s Lucas Perez, who is just not good enough to be playing in the Premier League, so seeing that change had some of the Irons on their manager’s back as well as Arnie’s.
Overall, the fan anger was aimed at the Austrian. When Marko Arnautovuc became the club’s record signing from Stoke City in summer 2017 the belief was that he could help rejuvenate them, and for the most part, he has done. The maverick in the 29-year-old is starting to come out again, though, and it looks like his short spell in Stratford will be coming to an abrupt end if the manner of his last few appearances is anything to go by.

West Ham fans are getting sick and tired of Arnautovic’s attitude issues and will be keen to see him off in the summer.
