The Celta Vigo striker has been continuously linked with a move to the London Stadium this summer, with the latest update from Sky Sports News stating that the 22-year-old is keen on a move to the Premier League, and this seems to back up an early claim from West Ham ITK ExWHUemployee, who recently said that the club would go back in for Gomez this month.
The Uruguayan has been the subject of interest from Manuel Pellegrini’s side as far back as January, where the Guardian reported that West Ham were ready to pay Gomez’s reported £43.5 million release clause, so it clearly has been a saga that’s run on and on.
Indeed, having 15 goals last season (higher than anyone in the West Ham side), it’s not hard to see why.
