Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram has been a reported transfer target of West Ham United over the summer and the Irons were monitoring his situation but never made an offer.
However, the most recent reports suggest January might be the best time for the east Londoners to make a move for the player. @DailyStar_Sport reported via @WHUFCFZ that Sheffield United will listen to offers for Lundstram in the winter transfer window.
In 2019/20, the Englishman scored five goals and supplied three assists, along with averaging 1.3 shots per game. In terms of defensive work, he managed 1.3 clearances, one interception and 1.4 tackles per match (WhoScored), while his manager Chris Wilder has hailed the 26-year-old as “outstanding”.
Some West Ham fans see him as a possible Mark Noble replacement – with the Irons midfielder now 33, the Blades player could be an ideal long-term successor to the current captain.
Everton legend Kevin Sheedy also called him ‘an inspiration for all you young players’, which further strengthens the case for trying to sign Lundstram.
