Despite an impressive campaign last year, the Hammers have seriously struggled in the Premier League this season. A very poor start led many in the Tavern fearing the worst – but in recent weeks, Bilic has managed to stave off the threat of relegation, at least for now.
It’s clear, though, that the Hammers need some serious reinforcements if Bilic wants to refind the form that his side had last season – and they have reportedly set their sights on Celtic sensation Moussa Dembélé ahead of a possible move this month.
However, any deal is beginning to look increasingly unlikely – with the Daily Mail reporting that Celtic have slapped a £30m price tag on the impressive forward, with West Ham only willing to pay up to £20m.
West Ham desperately need a bit of attacking depth, with the likes of Ayew and Carroll proving increasingly inconsistent with regards to their fitness and form this season – and Dembele could be a great option.
The young Celtic forward has been unbelievable this season, having already scored 9 goals in the Scottish top division – despite being just 20-years-old.
An option for the present and future – our landlord is backing him for stardom.
