Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are confident that things are starting to go their way again this season – despite their loss to Chelsea last night.
Indeed, whilst losing to the Blues obviously hurts there can be no real shame in it given the way that the men from west London are playing at the moment.
What the Hammers need to focus on now, then, is finishing as high as possible and carrying momentum into next season – something they failed to do for this campaign.
A lot of that will depend on the movements they make in the summer window you feel, too, and so David Sullivan’s words to the club’s official website will surely be of interest to Hammers fans.
Certainly, Sullivan is of the impression that only a handful of tweaks are needed to turn the club into a real force in this country and that has surely pleased our local West Ham punters by the bar.
Sullivan said:
“I believe we are only a couple of players short of having a very, very good side, and I can promise that we will be working extremely hard again in the summer to achieve that objective.”
Who comes in, then, remains to be seen but it certainly looks like the Hammers will be going for quality rather than quantity this summer.
Something, you could argue, they failed to do last year.
