West Ham United could be set to step up their efforts to land Eddie Howe as a replacement for Manuel Pellegrini, that is according to a report from Football Insider.
Whilst Pellegrini is still in charge at the London Stadium, it is thought that he is under serious pressure having led his team to just one win in their last nine league outings (Transfermarkt), and some reports suggest he will lose his job if the Hammers lose against Southampton in their next Premier League fixture (The Guardian).
According to Football Insider, if they do decide to part company with him, then Howe is top of the board’s wish list following discussions in recent weeks.
The 42-year-old is, of course, currently at Bournemouth and has done a superb job at Dean Court, leading them from League Two to the Premier League in his two spells at the south coast club (Transfermarkt).
However, despite that, it seems that not all West Ham fans would want Howe to be their next manager, with some pointing to the fact that his current team are on a poor run themselves and have lost five league games in a row (Transfermarkt).
Here is what some have said on Twitter about Howe potentially replacing Pellegrini…
No not Eddie Howe , just look at Bournemouth are they playing any better , and don’t forget he tried at Burnley and failed

Didn’t watch their game at palace then vs 10 men for 70 mins and barely had a shot

Howe is doing just as bad as pellegrini what makes him any different to the manager of the past !!! Would prefer make it safe to the end of the season with pellegrini (or care taker ) and find a perfect up and coming manger for long term progression.

I think people want them now because Pellegrini has been so poor, but Eddie Howe or Sean Dyche have hardly put up trees in the Lesgue only a few spots off us, is it worth it? Or would we just be kicking a can further down the road?
