West Ham United fans could be found drowning their sorrows in the Transfer Tavern on Saturday evening after their game with Everton in the Premier League.
It was nothing to do with the 1-1 draw that had got them unhappy but more the injury suffered to their star man Dimitri Payet during the game.
It has now been confirmed that the influential midfielder will miss the next three months for the club which comes as a body blow for the Hammers, given the Frenchman’s start to life in England.
He has netted five goals already this season but a crunching challenge from Toffees midfielder James McCarthy on Saturday has ensured that the former Marseille man will be sidelined until February.
“Hey guys just a little feedback. Just wanted to say that I am recovering. I am gonna work harder that ever and I will be back soon. See you soon Hammers.”
It remains to be seen just how Payet’s absence will effect the team who have started incredibly well this season.
Hammers fans… How good has Payet been for you? Has this come as a body blow to your season?
