When will it end for the West Ham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
West Ham have endured a torrid start to the 2016/17 Premier League season.
After moving to the London Stadium at the start of the season, the Hammers were expected to kick on and progress to the top of the Premier League – but the opposite has happened.
West Ham’s slide down the table has been well documented, and based on news like this; it is only going to get worse.
As per the Sun, the Hammers have suffered yet another injury blow as Gokhan Tore has been ruled out for up to 5 weeks.
He joins the already notable list of injured West Ham stars including Ayew, Carroll and Cresswell.
Whilst Tore has not lit fires in the Premier League as of yet, the West Ham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been keen to see him be given an extended chance in the top flight; and given the Hammers injuries woes as of late – they desperately need all the depth they can get.
It is hard to judge the performances of Tore when West Ham as a unit are playing so poorly, so who knows; he could have been the man to help turn around Slaven Bilic’s season.
With Tore only at West Ham on a season-long loan deal; he needs as much time as possible to prove to Bilic that he deserves a full-time deal – and in that vein, this could prove a bitter blow on a personal level.
This will come as a particular blow to West Ham in particular on the eve of a London derby, as the Irons gear up to face Crystal Palace at the weekend.
With Crystal Palace steaming ahead of expectations so far this season, West Ham will have a tough game on their hands; and in the absence of Tore – it looks like it will be even tougher.
