West Ham United fans here in the Tavern are looking for their side to improve on the impressive legacy David Moyes has built already. Although, the injury crisis at the London Stadium just worsened, with one of their star men now becoming the next victim.
Marko Arnautovic has been the standout player for the Hammers, in a season that’s seen him become one of the in-form Premier League players with his six goals and three assists thus far.
Although, with the target man Andy Carroll and the magician Manuel Lanzini both succumbing to injury lay-offs, it’s now the turn of Austrian international, Arnautovic. As fitness expert, Ben Dinnery has revealed a major setback for David Moyes and his West Ham side on Twitter.
Another attacking blow for West Ham following the news that Marko Arnautovic could miss up to four games after suffering a recurrence of the hamstring injury which has been hampering him in recent weeks. Andy Carroll and Lanzini are also in the Hammers treatment room. #WHUFC

This is arguably up there on a similar level to the Carroll and Lanzini injuries, for a player that’s carried the attacking load after the ineffectiveness of Javier Hernandez this season. After attracting attention from Chelsea, perhaps Carroll and Arnautovic’s injuries have come at the right time, with the Blues surely now likely to retract any interest they had in the pair.
Significantly for the Hammers, they do have three important fixtures against lower-half sides that the Austrian is set to miss, which could potentially harm their Premier League status should they fail to come away with results.
Landlord’s Verdict:
This is a major setback for the Hammers, a player that’s provided key goals and assists in a side that’s not flattered many on the attacking front. With them now having escaped the clutches of relegation, this could see them fall back into a position that many fans hoped they’d never see again.
