West Ham team news: Pellegrini receives boost ahead of clash with former club

West Ham United will host Manchester City at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon in Manuel Pellegrini’s first game against his former club.

The Chilean led the current Premier League champions to a top-flight title and two League Cup titles in his time at the Etihad Stadium.

However, he is now firmly focused on bringing success to the Hammers and will look for his side to take a positive approach in the match at the weekend.

And, it appears that he could have some huge news ahead of the clash with Pep Guardiola’s team.

According to the club’s official website, Mark Noble is available after completing his three-match suspension following the red card he received against Leicester City.

Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere could also make returns after spending time on the sidelines with ankle injuries, whilst Pellegrini used the international break to give his players some extra minutes on the field in a friendly against Brentford.

The Verdict:

Manchester City will be considered strong favourites for the game, however, West Ham can certainly make life difficult for them.

The Hammers have already beaten Manchester United at the London Stadium, whilst they managed to hold Chelsea to a goalless draw.

Pellegrini will be boosted by the return of Carroll, Noble and Wilshere for the game and will be hoping to get a positive result against his former club on Saturday afternoon.
