West Ham United failed to complete any incoming business on transfer deadline day. It appears it wasn’t through a lack of trying. The Hammers attempted to bring in both Fikayo Tomori and Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea on loan throughout the day, but in the end they were unable to complete a move for either, whilst they were even interested in midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek. In the end, though, he moved to the Blues’ west London rivals Fulham instead.

The 24-year-old has struggled with injuries, suffering cruciate ligament damage last year, but he has 10 caps for his country and has 12 goals in 82 appearances for Frank Lampard’s side. Currently valued at £21.6m by Transfermarkt, this may be one that got away for the Irons.
