Writing on Twitter, reliable transfer source Fabrizio Romano has shared an update for West Ham United as their club reportedly eye the signing of promising young star Moises Caicedo – claiming that while Brighton have submitted an official bid, the ‘race is still on‘ for other clubs interested.
Caicedo has been attracting plenty of attention from the Premier League recently, and at one stage, it looked almost certain he was heading to Manchester United – his admitted ‘dream‘ move.
Romano shares teasing four-word Caicedo update
However, with Romano revealing that the Red Devils have opted out of the race for his signature, West Ham, among other clubs, are reportedly eyeing a swoop.
Ecuadorian journalist Jorge Pazmino claimed that GSB and co had lodged a ‘formal offer‘ for ‘70%‘ of his rights, and even though Romano hasn’t supported this claim, he has name dropped the Hammers among clubs who could be interested in signing him.
Now, the Sky Sports transfer guru has shared that Brighton have lodged an official bid with personal terms about to be discussed, but he reserved some hope for Irons supporters with a teasing four-word update that the ‘race is still on‘.
Transfer Tavern take
Judging by this latest update, GSB and West Ham could still snap up the ‘real deal‘ starlet if they act fast, but it remains to be seen if the club will lodge an official bid of their own.
The priority for David Moyes appears to be a striker, especially after the confirmed departure of Sebastien Haller, but landing Caicedo could also be a brilliant move.
Journalist Tim Vickery holds high praise for the 19-year-old, hinting he ‘offers more‘ going forward than Chelsea star N’Golo Kante.
