According to a report by the Daily Mirror, as a result of target Joshua King’s hefty wage demands, West Ham United could turn to Borussia Monchengladbach star Alassane Plea this month as a potential option – with many Irons reacting as GSB contemplate making this ‘amazing signing‘.
Plea, despite missing a portion of the campaign due to injury, has still managed a prolific five goals in five Bundesliga starts (WhoScored) – all while predominantly featuring as an attacking midfielder.
Can West Ham sign Alassane Plea this window?
Never say never
In our dreams
Not what we need anyway
David Moyes’ priority for the Irons is widely tipped to be an outright centre-forward, but the Daily Mirror now claim that West Ham could turn to Plea as an attacking option given his record.
Reacting to this development, whilst holding reservations over whether GSB will land him this month, especially taking into account his potentially lofty price tag (Transfermarkt), many West Ham fans dropped a wide range of positive verdicts on Plea’s ability.

West Ham fans react as GSB eye Plea signing
“He would be class for us but doubt it would happen. He can be added to a lengthy list of strikers we have been linked with already this window.”
“Class player literally perfect in Moyes system but will always be about value for money, Dia probably the most likely”
“This would be an amazing signing, but again will not happen. Gladbach are in the last 16 of the Champions League, why would he want to join us?”
“He’s too good for us”
