As reported by The Express, West Ham’s Diafra Sakho is set for another injury lay-off despite only just returning to the side.
It’s come as desperate news for our resident Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern who were hoping with his return that they’d never have to see Simone Zaza start up front again.
It looks as though, they will now have to endure such punishment once more with Sakho reportedly out for three weeks.
The injury is believed to be to his hamstring and so is therefore not related to the one that had kept him out for the first part of this season.
The striker has missed the first four months of this campaign thanks to a back injury but returned to action against Spurs two games ago.
He then scored in the draw against Manchester United at the weekend with Hammers hoping he could help turn their dire season so far around.
They’ll have to wait more for that eventuality now, though, with attention now turning to their EFL Cup quarter final, against the Red Devils, on Wednesday night before a Premier League fixture against Arsenal this weekend.
