West Ham United posted a picture of winger Felipe Anderson on Twitter and it has been appreciated by the fanbase, with many showing their support for the player.
It has been a difficult campaign for the Brazilian, as he has only managed one goal and four assists in 21 appearances and is currently having to settle for a place on the bench under manager David Moyes, per Transfermarkt.
The 27 year-old has managed 2.8 successful dribbles per game, via WhoScored, which is better than last seasons 2.1 per game. However he has had less shots per game (dropped from 1.6 to 1) and is making fewer less key passes (1.8 down to 1.1).
He also scored nine times whilst assisting four times in his debut campaign in 2018/19 and the statistics highlight the player is possibly lacking some confidence in front of goal. It seems like even though he has struggled this season, the Hammers faithful still believe he can perform to the level that he did in 2018/19 and many are hoping this happens sooner rather than later, but it is nice to see the fans back a player who has not been at his best.
What the fans can’t do however is dictate whether he will be kept or sold in the summer transfer window, and many reports are circulating suggesting Moyes is tempted to ship the Brazilian out to buy younger players in a restructure of the squad, via West Ham News.
It seems that plenty don’t want him to be moved on, here is what some fans have said following the post:
